Andreas Gross

Director, Atelier pour la Démocratie Directe

Andreas Gross is a Swiss political scientist, leading expert for Direct Democracy and was for 24 years Member of the Swiss Parliament and Leader of the Social Democrats in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. He studied history at the University of Zurich, political science at the University of Lausanne, was university assistant in Bern and Lausanne, researcher in Berlin and Stanford, and taught Direct Democracy for 20 years at several German Universities from Marburg to Hamburg, from Speyer to Jena. Since 1989 he leads the Atelier pour la Démocratie Directe in Saint-Ursanne (Jura). www.andigross.ch
